The Samblack (343 Creek) occurrence is located in the Samuel Black Ranges on the northeast side of the informally named 343 Creek, approximately 3.5 kilometres northwest of the creek's confluence with the Finlay River, about 205 kilometres north-northwest of the community of Germansen Landing.

The area is underlain by marine sedimentary and volcanic rock of the Upper Triassic Stuhini Group. An early Jurassic stock intrudes the strata; granodiorite to monzonite is reported.

In 2002, prospecting by Stealth Minerals located a new copper, silver, gold prospect in intrusive rock. The rocks and the alteration (K-feldspar) in this area appear more porphyritic (intrusion-related porphyry copper-silver-gold) than the mineralized intrusive rooks in the Vip West skarn area located 2.8 kilometres to the east (094E 048). The original rock grab sample from this area assayed 2.3 per cent copper, 94.4 grams per tonne silver, 2.7 grams per tonne gold (Figure 4a, sample RR06-02, Assessment Report 27160).

In 2003, a rock sample (133967) collected approximately 500 metres to the south-southeast of the previous sample yielded values up to 0.88 gram per tonne gold, 56.3 grams per tonne silver, 1.125 per cent copper and 0.104 per cent zinc (Assessment Report 27429). In 2005, rock samples (63987 and 63988) from the same area as the 2003 rock samples yielded up to 0.09 gram per tonne gold, 3.7 grams per tonne silver, 0.287 per cent copper and 0.408 per cent zinc (Assessment Report 28071).

Refer to the Pine (094E 016) for details of the Pine property which contained the Vip/Grace occurrences from the late 1990s to 2014. Exploration work included programs of rock and soil sampling, geological mapping and airborne geophysical surveys. Also see the Electrum (094E 125) for details of historic property ownership and related occurrences. Also see Grace 1 (094E 129) for further details on the Vip skarn deposits.

During 2016 through 2018, Amarc Resources Ltd. completed programs of soil and rock sampling, geological mapping, 115.0 line kilometres of ground induced polarization surveys and 1940.0 line kilometres of airborne magnetic surveys on the area as the Joy property.
